2022 Midterm Election Republican Candidates
Commissioner, Jefferson County
Eric Timmons
– “Well, it’s been about 48 hours and it’s finally sinking in. We won!!! People are saying it is possibly the biggest upset in Jefferson County political history. I’m anxious to see the numbers, but I’m pretty certain we were outspent by a large margin. We had a great strategy and we did it at a grass roots level that didn’t require overspending. I couldn’t have done it without tremendous support. A campaign is full of ups and downs. One day you feel extremely confident, the next day you think you don’t have a chance. People were ready for a change and I am honored they have put their faith in me. I won’t let you down.
To my opponent, Commissioner Graham, I wish you well in the future and I greatly respect your 20 years of service. Thank you for your service over the years to Jefferson County.
Thank you to my family and friends. I am so lucky to have the parents I do. My brother Brian and sister-in-law Michelle, thank you for everything. My aunts, uncles, cousins, our Barnesville OH family, thank you! Friends and supporters, too many to name, I don’t want to forget anybody, so a huge thank you for spreading the word to all. My media team, Pierce Media. Tim Pierce was a pleasure to work with and very knowledgeable. He was a great representative of myself and the campaign at various events. This representation was definitely an advantage for my campaign. Thank you to my campaign manager, Angelina Puorro. Thank you Big Red Nation and my hometown of Steubenville.
We live in a great county with a lot of potential. I thoroughly enjoyed the friends I have made on the campaign trail and going door-to-door in all of the communities. I look forward to spending time all over this beautiful county.
A huge thank you to the Jefferson County Republican Party. We have come a long way. Thanks to Chairman Brian Scarpone, Vice-Chairman Tom Gentile, the Executive Committee, Central Committee, all of our great supporters, and past and present candidates.
I’ll be resigning from Steubenville City Council effective December 31st, 2022. I wish all of council the best. I have learned so much these past seven years and I’ve been blessed to encounter and work with some great people. We didn’t always agree, but I truly believe we were able to accomplish some great things and the city is moving in the right direction. I wish my successor on council well. If you need me, I’ll be there to help and advise.
I’m eager and excited to get to work as your county commissioner.
Thank you,
Eric Timmons
